| We were not
pioneers ourselves, but we journeyed over old trails that were new to us,
and with hearts open.

I have been a photographer
since 1972. My interest in photography was sparked when I
started climbing in the Oregon Cascades. As an avid climber,
skier, hiker, and backpacker, I have extensively explored and
photographed in the mountains of the northwestern U.S. and western
Canada.
My wife Diane generously
assists with many aspects of my photography. We have lived in
Spokane, Washington since 1988.
Prior
to 2000, when I began my full-time pursuit of a professional
photographic career, I worked as a geologist. For 25 years,
geology required me to travel widely throughout the western U.S.
I gained
a greater appreciation for the Northwest along the way.
My photography
and writing are featured regularly in Spokane-Coeur d'Alene Living
Magazine. My
images and writing have also appeared in the publications of the Alpine Club of Canada,
Explore Magazine, Skiing Magazine, The Spokane Mountaineers, the Spokesman-Review newspaper, and The Wilderness Society.
I have been a finalist in the 2007 Environmental Photography
Invitational and 2008 International Conservation Photography Awards. |
